Hosting A Successful Recruitment Day

Caraway House Care Home recently hosted our inaugural Recruitment Day, spanning over two dates: May 30th and June 8th, 2024. Organised by the care home’s manager and heads of departments, the event was a collective effort that yielded impressive results, showcasing the team’s commitment to building a strong, dedicated staff.

The two-day event attracted numerous applications from the community of Selsey and surrounding areas, with many attendees expressing excitement about the various roles available, the welcoming working environment and the core values of Caraway House. The Recruitment Day served as a warm introduction of the new care home to the local community, encouraging potential team members to explore opportunities and engage with the existing staff.

The relaxed and friendly atmosphere was a highlight, with the manager and department heads mingling with guests, fostering open conversations and making everyone feel at ease. The later finish time and the option of attending on either of the two days proved beneficial, especially for those who had come straight from work or from out of the area.

The event was also an opportunity to dispel any rumours about the delays in the build and to showcase the beautiful new home to the tight-knit community of Selsey. Attendees had the chance to meet the manager and the team, learn about job opportunities and gain insights directly from current staff members. The Recruitment Days were not only about filling positions but also about connecting with future contacts who may prove valuable in the future.

These recruitment open days provided an excellent platform for potential candidates to learn about the company, understand its culture and get a feel for the home. They also allowed the existing team to be actively involved in the recruitment process, meeting future colleagues and feeling empowered by their contributions.

Understanding the needs of future residents is crucial and events like these help ensure that new team members share the right values and dedication. The success of the Recruitment Days bodes well for the future of Caraway House, highlighting its commitment to building a caring and professional team.

In addition to the recruitment efforts, Caraway House is proud to highlight the recent appointment of Trena Morey as the Wellbeing & Lifestyle Lead. Trena has been in her role for seven weeks and has already begun building strong relationships within the local community of Selsey. With extensive experience in the care sector, she is quickly adapting to her new role and enjoying getting to know her team.

Trena is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of residents, focusing on the small details that matter most to them and their loved ones. Activities will play a significant role in daily life at Caraway House, and Trena is committed to providing a quality activity planner to ensure residents have ample opportunities to relax, enjoy themselves and stay stimulated.

Caraway House Care Home looks forward to continuing its mission of providing exceptional care and creating a warm, supportive community for both residents and staff.
