Respite Care FAQs

Respite care is available to any individual who requires support on a short-term basis, providing an opportunity for recovery and helping with activities of daily living. If you or a family member needs permanent care, respite care can also be used to trial our home for 4 weeks.

All of our care services are offered to our respite residents, no matter their duration. During a resident’s stay, they can expect their own bedroom, meals, refreshments, activities and entertainment, access to all of our in-house facilities and support with activities of daily living. Depending on the specific care needs of the individual, nursing care can also be provided.

The length of respite care in West Sussex will depend on their needs as well as the availability of our respite care beds. We have a minimum length of stay of 3 weeks, which allows residents to feel settled, ensuring they get the most out of their stay; for further information please get in touch with our team.

Yes. Respite stays can be extended or converted into a permanent placement at any time by speaking with our Home Manager.

Yes, if a longer-term solution is needed, respite care can transition into full-time residential care. Respite can also be used a trial period for the home, should care needs change.
