Residents, families, friends and staff came together on 8th October 2026 to celebrate Caraway House's second anniversary with a country and western-themed party.
The idea came from Home Manager Michelle, who wanted to mark the occasion with a celebration that everyone could enjoy. Michelle kindly sourced the decorations to bring the theme to life and arranged a special staff awards ceremony to recognise the people whose hard work and commitment help make Caraway House in Selsey a welcoming place to live.

Lifestyle and Wellbeing Lead Trena Morey and Lifestyle Assistant Bethan Ford did a wonderful job transforming the room with country and western decorations. Trena also organised the entertainment, which included performances from Kerry and Sue, as well as line dancing from the Barn Company.
There was plenty to enjoy throughout the day, with Head Chef Dan and his kitchen team, Hannah, Matt and Tobie, preparing a barbecue for everyone.
The event also highlighted the contribution of staff across the home. Steve, Head of Maintenance, and his assistant Trever helped set up the room, arranging tables and chairs and moving furniture. Head Housekeeper Jodie and her team made sure everything was clean and ready for the occasion, while the care team supported residents to attend and take part in the celebrations.
A particularly special part of the day was the awards ceremony, where Michelle took the opportunity to thank colleagues for their dedication and recognise their contribution to Caraway House over the past two years.

The feedback from residents and families showed just how much the occasion was enjoyed.
One resident said: "It was a lovely day, and I really enjoyed watching the dancing and listening to the music."
Another resident commented: "The room looked beautiful, and everyone had made such an effort. It was a lovely way to celebrate our anniversary."
Families also shared their appreciation. One family member said: "What a fantastic celebration! It was lovely to see the residents smiling and enjoying themselves. Thank you to all the staff who worked so hard to make it special."
Another added: "It was clear how much thought and effort had gone into organising the day. The entertainment was lovely, and the atmosphere was fantastic."
Celebrating two years at Caraway House was an opportunity to reflect on the community that has grown within the home. Events like this give residents the chance to enjoy something different, spend time with the people important to them and make new memories.
A big thank you to Michelle and everyone across the Caraway House team who helped make the anniversary such an enjoyable occasion. We look forward to welcoming residents, families and friends to many more events in the years ahead.
