Selsey Community Celebrates the Opening of Caraway House Care Home

Caraway House Care Home, a brand-new care home nestled in the picturesque seaside town of Selsey, marked its opening with a heartwarming ceremony attended by local dignitaries, community members, and future residents. The event highlighted the home's commitment to providing exceptional care and ensuring a sense of community for older individuals in the Selsey area.

Justine Sanderson, Clinical Manager at Caraway House, expressed her enthusiasm for the opening: "We are thrilled to welcome our first residents to Caraway House. Our dedicated team is committed to creating a warm and supportive environment where residents can thrive and enjoy a high quality of life. We look forward to building strong relationships with local organisations and individuals in the local community to contribute to the well-being of older people in Selsey."

Our three-story care home offers a range of specialised care services, including Residential, Nursing, Dementia, and Respite Care. Its prime location provides easy access to both the stunning coastline and the tranquil South Downs countryside, offering residents the opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of the area.

Sanderson emphasised the importance of community integration: "We recognise that the transition to a care home can be a challenging experience for both residents and their families. Our goal is to ease this transition by creating a sense of belonging and connection. We encourage families and friends to visit often and to participate in the various activities and events we offer."

To celebrate the opening of our luxury care home, we hosted an event and invited local businesses and members of the community. The event was a hit and had around 70 guests, including our VIP Mike Nichols from the Selsey Care Shop! He gave us a wonderful speech about his journey with the home from the beginning of its build to now and we will continue to work closely with Mike and the local Selsey community. The day was spent enjoying a fabulous buffet and welcome drinks from our talented chefs Chloe and Dom.

To finish our celebrations perfectly, we also welcomed our very first female resident into the home and are thrilled to see this continue in the upcoming months of our opening!
