Getting Involved in the Local Community With Selsey Community Forum & The Hidden Garden!
With us having our grand opening last month, we have loved getting out into the local community and connecting with a variety of individuals. The Selsey Community Forum offers several services and helps to find volunteers in places where there is a surplus. Both our staff and residents have enjoyed getting to know different groups of people and strengthening our community links.
The Hidden Garden is a project initiative designed to get community members involved in growing local fruit and vegetables. They have offered us their surplus home gown apples, which our chefs made good use of for cakes and desserts this week. As a special thank you, we made a German Apple Cake and presented this to the volunteers which they thoroughly enjoyed. Our residents also enjoyed the treats, getting to try something new with the delicious apples.
The volunteers from the Hidden Garden have offered to come and visit our residents to support them with their garden activities. At Caraway House Care Home, we have beautiful private gardens that we like to fill with a variety of our residents' favourite plants and flowers throughout the year. They have visited us to provide advice on the plans and scrubs which we've already planted and let us know the best ones for the future. Our residents have also been invited to visit their Hidden Garden which we are excited to do in the future.
Following our visits, we have had some great feedback from the Hidden Garden which generated several show-arounds for potential residents over the upcoming weeks. We are excited to invite prospective residents into our luxury care home in West Sussex to show them first-hand our exceptional care services and in-house facilities. If you think Caraway House may be the ideal care home for yourself or a loved one, book a tour to visit our dedicated and compassionate team. We look forward to hearing from you.
